Seljaskóli students on the radio!

Six students from Seljaskóli received the exceptional opportunity to appear on the radio program "What Are You Reading?" on Channel 1. The program is hosted by the talented Embla Bachmann, who, despite being only 18 years old, has published two popular children's and young adult books, "Stelpur stranglega bannaðar" (Girls Strictly Forbidden) and "Kærókeppnin" (The Boyfriend Competition).

In the radio program, Embla explores various types of children's literature. She interviews authors, translators, illustrators, actors and others involved in creating children's books, while also giving young readers themselves the chance to share their opinions. It was in this context that six book enthusiasts from Seljaskóli participated and discussed interesting books they had read.

These dedicated bookworms appeared on the program:

• Tinna Karen Jóhannesdóttir (5th grade) – discussed the book "Undirheimar" (Underworlds)

• Arna Guðrún Vignisdóttir (7th grade) – talked about the book series "Allt er svart í myrkrinu" (Everything Is Black in the Dark)

• Saga Jörundsdóttir Blöndal (6th grade) – chatted about the book "Dans á rósum" (Dancing on Roses)

• Álfrún Alba Gunnarsdóttir (4th grade) – spoke about "Draugagangur og Derby" (Hauntings and Derby)

• María Mist Einarsdóttir (5th grade) – discussed the newest book in the "Orri óstöðvandi" (Unstoppable Orri) series

• Kristján Breki Ásgeirsson (5th grade) – talked about "Fjársjóður í mýrinni" (Treasure in the Marsh)

Here at Seljaskóli, we are extremely proud of these remarkable students. They demonstrated genuine enthusiasm for books, impressive dedication and confident poise during the program. Their participation serves as inspiration for all students, and others as well, to pick up an exciting book and read more!

We encourage everyone to tune in to "What Are You Reading?"!
