The Blue Planet premieres at Seljaskóli

Blue

Fifth-grade students at Seljaskóli took the stage last week and premiered the musical The Blue Planet by Andri Snær Magnason to fantastic reception! The young performers showed incredible energy, enthusiasm, and talent, and truly shined on stage.

Sandra handled the directing, choreographed the dances and designed magical costumes and sets that made the show even more enchanting. The fifth-grade homeroom teachers Hrefna, Anna and Hugi guided students through script and song rehearsals and brilliantly worked with them on the set design.

The singing was in the safe hands of music teacher Rósalind, who diligently rehearsed the group. The tech team, ninth-graders Jón Karl and Óliver Atli, along with teacher Þór, made sure everything came together on stage.

And let's not forget the parents who supported their kids at home, practiced lines with them and played the songs over and over. It truly takes a huge collaborative effort from many parties to bring such a large production to the stage.

The audience had a wonderful time, laughed heartily and were captivated by the energy that characterized the performance. It was clear that the fifth-grade students have a bright future ahead of them on the big stage!
