Role and objectives

The intake unit primarily welcomes and cares for children seeking international protection. The unit aims to meet students at their current educational level, teach them Icelandic, and prepare them for regular schooling. Students come from diverse backgrounds. Some have been refugees their entire lives. Their education is often fragmented or nonexistent.
