Glymskrattinn (The Jukebox) in 7th grade

7th grade students premiered the show Glymskrattinn – A Journey Through Music History at the end of the school year. This original musical showcases how dance and music have evolved over the past 100 years. The school's teachers wrote the script.
Students were divided into different groups based on their interests, and everyone took part. They formed acting groups, dance groups, singing groups, a tech crew, set design teams and more.
Audiences were absolutely amazed by the quality and splendor of the show! Students delivered outstanding performances, the dance was magnificent, the singing was spectacular and all teams performed excellently. The impressive costumes caught everyone's attention, with Sandra the dance teacher sewing and designing some of them herself.
We are also excited to share that last March, education ministers from various countries, including Sweden, Lithuania and New Zealand, along with teacher leaders from various ISTP participating countries, totaling 30 people, visited and toured Seljaskóli. They got to watch this group's dance rehearsal and were completely captivated – the visit and dance rehearsal later made it into the media. It was extremely exciting to show teacher leaders from around the world part of this amazing show and our talented students!
An incredible project that we at Seljaskóli are extremely proud of.
